At last the legendary Signature I-93MKII is now available in a fully active form.

Using the latest customized and modified digital amplification with a choice of digital signal processing the Signature I-93MKII is re invented.

Pushing the performance boundaries even further, we've built in 600Watts of amplification into each of the speakers. This is divided into three separate channels, two x 250Watts for bass and mid range, and 100Watts for the tweeter. So 1200Watts of power in all. More than a little dynamic headroom!

The most important features of our Signature I-93MKII are retained. Continuing the technical foundations required to make a truly accurate speaker we physically time aligned drivers, very low distortion linear drives using copper coated motor assemblies, solid copper phase plugs and precision wound voice coils.

Made from a magnesium alloy that is both stiff and light, each mid range driver cone is matched with the tweeter.

Diffraction control is very important to a speaker and one of several things that can destroy imaging and natural tonality. We describe this and other aspects as 'stored energy'. This is basically any energy emitted from the speaker after the main impulse has been generated. It is a serious problem generated by several discrete aspects within a speaker - we go to some lengths to address these.

VAF treat the diffraction problem with a uniquely designed absorption material that is 100% more efficient than alternative methods and almost completely eliminate the effect in the areas it is design for. Computer optimized and CNC cut, the baffle treatment is unique for each speaker.

Our stored energy control story continues with highly inert cabinet construction taken to the next level with an optional internal foil covered and loaded damping material laminated to the inside of the cabinet. Also available with Analysis Plus internal cabling that we believe to be the most accurate and precise cable manufactured. Cabinet baffle thickness of up to 75mm and internal complex cross bracing 25mm thick on top of isolated and separate mid and tweeter enclosures make the I-93MKII a substantial speaker weighing in over 100KG each.

Stored energy is also an issue in passive cross over designs (traditional crossovers) where passive components, while of highest quality in our speakers, are still not perfect devices. These all have non ideal properties and introduce levels of distortion including delays which are difficult and or impossible to eliminate -

Enter the active DSP (Digital Signal Processing) based crossover. Australian design and totally unique DEQX is the only digital processor we know that can convert the digital signal into analogue across all frequencies with zero time error or phase shift/delay. This means for the first time our speakers can truly be time and frequency accurate. You can only achieve this with all of the other stored energy control techniques we've already been deploying for nearly thirty years. VAF Signature I-93MKII are truly unique in the world in this regard.

Further enhancing the performance in your listening environment is the inbuilt room correction capability. Your room influences the sound of the speaker in ways previously we could do nothing about. Every room sounds different and therefore makes the speakers performance different in that room. The DEQX on board room correction helps or eliminates many of these problems. We log into your DEQX in your room and calibrate the system with you. If you move rooms/houses, it's a simple matter of re connecting with us and we'll log into the unit and re calibrate for the new surroundings.

There are two levels of processor available -

The entry level VAF-EQ2 has all the processing capabilities of the flagship VAF-EQ5 just without some of the features. Digital inputs include Optical, SPDIF - RCA and BNC, and AES/EBU. Also USB Audio as standard. Analogue inputs RCA and XLR.

In addition to this the flagship VAF-EQ5 has touch screen control, digital input and output, balanced in and out and USB audio as standard. Also, an upgraded room measurement microphone extracting even more detailed and accurate frequency data. It also utilizes an upgraded high capacity power supply with low noise outputs separated from the digital filtering sections. Audiophile grade caps and internal connections with gold plated outputs. Inert massed chassis, and isolated internal board mounting. Finally and importantly the flagship VAF-EQ5 is equipped with a ROON end point and is network connectable via Ethernet. Providing easy and powerful connectivity for the highest resolution streaming available today.
