The latest and greatest Chord amplifier to hit the streets. For some time Chord have been winning award after award and cementing their credibility in the digital space for their amazing DAC's and up scaling digital front ends. They've certainly set and maintained the highest level of performance in these areas to the possible detriment or even distraction from what historically has been their core offering - really high quality amplification and analog systems. The new T-Toby amplifier to pair with the amazing Hugo TT-2 DAC and matching Hugo M-Scaler now has a big brother to complete the Choral Suite including the DAVE DAC and the BLU-2 scaler.
The new Etude power amplifier will have Chord reclaim the amplifier technology space. Pairing to the multi award winning DAVE and BLU2 the Etude is the keystone in a trio to compete with anything in the world and come out on top - just some great speaker cables and speakers and you have what we like to call an "end game system". No need to look any further or upgrade - this is it.
As a product on it's own of course it holds it's own and can be used with any pre out to deliver an incredible sounding power stage.
Using highly advanced technologies derived from the aerospace industry, the Etude has been designed with an incredibly fast power supply - this means unrivaled dynamics and life like delivery of transient information and importantly effortless control over the attached loudspeaker.
The design is based on a multi feedback, dual forward error correction technology that intelligently adjusts and compensates individually the linearity of the 250 watt lateral structure high power proprietary MOSFETS. That is a mouthful, but basically means the output stages are monitored and perfectly adjusted to make sure they're always running in their most efficient and cleanest possible way. This means clean output!
Three individual highly shielded high frequency switch mode power supplies feed an active rail for the outputs and individual one for the auxiliary rails. Advanced internal shielding, active plenum chamber design and custom proprietary MOSFETs combine to create an extremely fast, detailed and crystal clear amplifier truly able to be rated world class.
Conservatively rated at 150W into 4ohms, you can run the Etude in a bridged mono mode doubling the output power. A sign of a very well designed power stage.
